To Dubai…

Since a holiday came up, the family decided to go to Dubai for a spring break. Dubai is never boring for nearly all Omani’s. If your travelling by car then one of the specialities of Dubai is its four hour destiny, comparing to other places, Dubai is really near. Anyway, we stayed on a hotel which was the Millienium, it obviously had entrances like every other building but the problem was, they only had back entrances since the metro decided to block their main entrance. Weird but.. weird?

At the beginning of our trip we went to Murdif Mall and played football which wasnt expected. Since my brother is a football lover ( including the boys in Oman, the Gulf and the rest of the world )

We heard about a Brazilian themed restaurant called Frevo. This restaurant was worth visiting because it had some different and unique ideas including that they had no menus at all. On each table, there was a red box that would turn green after pressing on it. The idea of the restaurant was to have the starters which were the salads and the soup. After that, you press the box for the light to turn green, this tells the waiter that your ready to eat the meat! He brings you a churrasco full of meat and finally shreds it. You choose the piece of your choice and enjoy the meat :)

Another restaurant which was visited by a cool girl (H) was the Burj Al Hamam, and this is meant for hummus and shawarma lovers. It is obviously a Labanese restaurant in Dubaai Mall which is also worth trying.

By the end of our trip, we decided to have some pizza in The Pizza Factory which was in the DIFC mall. We had lunch there and headed back to Oman.

I just realized the trip was all about food, but hey, food is the key to… obesity :(

A chocofreak visited chocomania !

A new coffee shop opened next to ‘ My Cupcake ‘ called chocomania in Oman ! Today was the first day I had the chance to try it !

I have to admit, it was an amazing choice ! Well, obviously, it was a nice choice since an angel was there but anyway ! :D

We ordered a chocolate syringe which was the snack of my day! I’ve actually tried a bit of it since the using of my iPod made me busy and after I had a look on my syringe, well, lets predict that a rat ate the rest of it ! The other snack I had was the Marsh Hot Chocolate, now that was worth trying ! It comes in different kinds of chocolates like milk, dark and white!

By the time I finished my snacks, my throat obviously needed some 6 buckets of water, but still, the coffee shop is worth visiting ;)

I advise you to try these:

1- Chocolate Syringe
2- Hot Chocolate ( Sandi, Normal or Marshmallow )
3- BBQ Fruit Salad

P.s – If any of you has some online lessons for humility then I would be happy to apply :P

Finally 13!

Finally 13! My birthday was on the 1st of February, and yes, I know, a cool date, not as cool as me! Anyway, my family decided to celebrate the birthday in Dubai which was a really awsome idea since I never get bored of Dubai! Im finally 13 years old so Im pretty sure Ill get over the fact that people keep on calling me names such as.. Kiddo, child, baby, little deema…
Such a frustrating thing, even more frustrating than sitting at home in weekends!

Since Im a teenager now, I decided to invite my friends over for some BBQ! Great idea since Im the one who came up with it! :) I know I know, Im a show off, indeed, a really awsome one!

I have some ideas for a perfect birthday party!

1: Water fight at the beach
2: Slumber Party
3: Movie theatre
4: BBQ
5: Cant come up with anything :D

Cya Later, Aligators !

The Amazing Weather!

Its finally winter here in Oman! I can actually wear my boots now. Its been kept in the cabinet for so long that dust is stuck on it! Sitting in a restaurant, watching the… Construction view? and wearing my boots is the best feeling ever. Well except for the view that was just not cool!

The wind was blowing right into my nose, I mean, my cute little nose doesn’t stand strong wind but I had to go with it!

We went to Shang Thai in Al Mouj since we needed some cold weather and obviously food! It was a great choice since it has a great location, MIDDLE OF A PARKING LOT :D , actually, next to the parking lot but it still encouraging! The food there is proper Chinese food. It includes curries, noodles, duck, dumplings and the other Chinese meals! Its worth trying!

New year’s eve is tonight, so I want to wish all my followers a Happy New Year! Wish this year will be filled with happiness to all people’s hearts!

Enjoy!

Bad Luck Deema

Yesterday was the day we’ve all been waiting for, well, actually, yesterday was the day all Omani’s were waiting for. We had heavy rains in all over Muscat, Oman.

I was in Mawaleh, which is the other side of Muscat. We came outside to have a little walk but all we had is tiny drops of rain. While in Athaiba, the place where the amazing me lives, had such heavy rain. Obviously, it was my bad luck, I adore rain but this time I was in a place that had no rain.. What a day!

We were supposed to go to the beach today but since detective grandpa predicted that there may be rain today, we decided to simply gather up in my grandpa’s house!

My cousins house is in Mawaleh, apparently, they have a security dog which was also my bad luck, it was time for me to leave yesterday when this dog decided to taste me, he pushed the cage so hard that he almost broke it, my cousin told me to run inside because she had to have a little talk with this annoying dog, after some words of calmness, they told me that its time to go to the car, I ran like never before till I reached the car safely. FEWH!

A day with the Machros!

Okay, I can see that you dont get most of my titles, but I’ll be explaining them throughout my post.

Im on with my favourite pj’s, I just slept in my grandfathers, I had breakfast which included some crispy toast and well obviously not a crispy cheese.

Our family’s nickname is ‘ Machros ‘ which in our language means ‘ Mosquitoes ‘

I think this nickname suits me the most since Im a, as I call it, a curious girl.

We gathered up and it was me, my grandmother and my grandfather, my grandmother started telling stories of their younger days. I started thinking how people could live without internet, if internet goes away, my life eventually will go away! I mean I wouldnt even be writing this right now which is really disturbing to hear. Think about it, try it, close the internet of your house for one week, and see if you have more fun without it or not!

It would actually help people to rest their eyes and actually have fun with their relatives rather than using Facebook or Twitter the whole time! Trust me, you will have more fun!

Enjoy and good luck ! :)

A Bite of a Macaroon

I finally tasted a macaroon that comes from France, wondering from where i got it? From mama! My mom ‘ Alia Al Farsi ‘ is an artist that travels every now and then to countries for different kind of exhibitions. This time the journey was to France, Paris.

It was the time for her to finally come back to her precious country Oman. An amazing gift was given to me which was a box of macaroons. I melted when I heard the word ‘ macaroons ‘

I finally took a bite of my macaroon after begging my mom to eat it. It was the bite of the day, I’m not going to exaggerate and tell you that once I took the bite I closed my eyes and stuff, I mean, I not in the middle of a galaxy advertisement. Anyway the macaroon was delicious!

Im a fan of a restaurant called ‘ Ladurée ‘ This cafe has amazing macaroons, it is officially a french cafe… I discovered that from the name. The cafe is international.. It has a corner in Arab Emirates, Australia, Brazil, England, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Monaco, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Switzerland, United States. If you live/visit in any of these countries then you’ll have to order the macaroons there.

Mussanah Trip!

I think some of the people who are reading this right now, wont know what Mussanah is… I discovered this when the red line appeared under the word Mussanah.. I spell checked it and found that the only similar word was Savannah… So by that, I will make the word clearer. Mussanah is a small city in Oman. We decided to go to Mussanah as a friends trip and we did.

When we reached there, we ate lunch and decided to go fishing! Fishing was a tough experience. I used to feel the fish, pull the fishing wire, and see, actually not see the bait! It felt frustrating.. Not seeing the bait and not seeing the fish either! Putting the bait in the hook and throwing the fishing wire in the sea was a bit hard for me :S

After fishing, we had a white night! White night was kind of our theme … We decided to all wear white-to-white clothes and have a dinner in the restaurant! When we all reached the restaurant, all the waiters, waitresses and everybody started staring and pointing! Now that was the embarrassing feeling, but we still had fun! We stayed at night chatting, playing games, and telling stories! The next day, we went to a zoo to watch some animals like kangaroos, deer, parrots, snakes and much more animals!

The conclusion of our trip was to go to another zoo but we ended up in the owners house! It was still a wonderful experience to watch omani people serve delicious food! We met all of the owner’s family and it was a pleasure! We really had fun in this trip and even though we didnt get to see a zoo, we met the traditions of Oman and we learned something from this trip!

Long Time!!

It’s been a really long time since I read or posted anything in my blog. Since school started I have been busy in studies and home-works and stuff! Anyway, today I wanted to talk about my school!

I know school is boring and bla bla! But, our school? NEVER!

Our new Principal came since 2009 and which is also the day I came to the school! Anyway, after the principal came, activities started coming up, pool parties, music concerts, charity days, cancer walks and all the others! So my point is… school isn’t always bad! It’s a place where we can study, meet friends, enjoy all of these activities that I mentioned a second ago… well 4 seconds ago :P

Girls are having a pool party this Wednesday and I’m looking forward to go since all the money that were paid for the tickets go to charity!! It’s gonna be AWESOME!!

See ya!

Jep Med and Risotto!!

I will never understand this title since my dad made it up! Yesterday Night, we needed dinner and no one was there to cook, so we decided to make ourselves some dinner! My dad was the chef and I was his assistant. Anyway, we opened the box of the risotto and started boiling it… after that my dad and I agreed to make a fancy dinner! We fried some chicken, poured the Japanese Mediterranean Sauce ( which my dad called Jep Med ) and added some olives. My expectations were 20% tasty food. But, after I tasted the Risotto and the Jep Med I completely got surprised. It was the tastiest homemade food I have ever tasted in my life!

So, never get scared of trying new things, everyone experiences failure and learns from it so ” Don’t Limit Your Challenges, Challenge Your Limits!

These are the photos I took after our meal was done!
